All pictures are taken by Gaute V. Vorren, a good friend of mine.  He's a hobby photographer, and quite a good one at that.  The pictures are scanned by me, and if you don't think the quality is quite as good as it should be, I'm the one to blame. :)

If you click on the pictures you can see them properly sized.  These pages are propably best seen in 1024x768.

The Setting:

Me and a friend, Gaute V. Vorren, had been working at a "hotel" in the middle of nowhere for 6 weeks.  The weather was gorgeous, and we needed vacation.  We managed to get Gaute a rental bike for a decent sum, and laid our plan:  Drive south for a while, then turn north again.

We started out both on my bike, with quite lousy weather.  Gaute is quite a large man by the way, and together with our stuff (a tent, sleepingbags, clothes for two and so on) he put considerable weigth on both me and the bike.  After approx. two hours of driving, we ended up at this place for a bottle of coke and a smoke.

The road in the background is the main road
going through all of Northern Norway.
As you see, the weather was allready improving.

We now continued out on the countryside to fetch Gaute's (rented hahaha) bike.  Later that night we arrived at Senja, one of Norways largest islands.  I have some quite extraordinary pictures for you from our stop there.  Some of these pictures are taken from a boat, if you wondered where the waves came from.

At sea.  Great, bright night.  We can se the fog coming in
from the northern sea...  Still beautiful though.

The fog is now rolling in over the mountains.
Get's you reminded of all those "Troll" stories...

We're still at sea, now in the fog.

There is no sunrise or sunset in "the land of the
midnight sun".  This picture is taken around midnight, but since
this was at the end of the season, the sun hid behind the mountains.

That night we sat in the sauna and drank beer the rest of the night.  :)
