My journey to Italy

Yes, I was only 17 years old when I first headed to warmer weather on my own.  Ok, on my own is perhaps a sort of overstatement, I went to Italy with AFS (or Intercultura in Italy).  At least I moved out from my old family and in with a previously unknown Italian family.  I was quite excited.
I lived in Tuscany, quite close to the border between Florence and Siena.  The closest town (that I stayed allmost all my stay actually) is called Poggibonsi.  I was indeed close to one of the better (I think I should have said "best" there, my friends & host-family down there will hit me with something hard next time I visit them) wine districts in Italy, the Chianti area.

To make a long story short, I enjoyed my stay a lot.  Unfortunately I don't have very many pictures from there, and I'm not in the mood to write a lot about it.   Not that you would be interested anyway.  As well I seem to be in most of the pictures, and some of you might have noticed that is in general a bad thing.

So, if anyone out there accidentially drops by this page, and you where there & met me, please drop me a note.

Oh, I also used to have quite a lot more hair on my scalp at those times, and I guess I will sometimes regret "publishing" these pictures.  But don't think you can ever break me or my self esteem!  :)

Here we go.

This is the house I was first welcomed in.  I lived at the Tinacci's for
a cople of very nice and comfortable months.  Unfortunately they could
only have me staying for a short time, and they lived sort of far from
society, and that's not allways easy when you are not permitted to drive...

This is the view from the front of the house.  You can imageine how
I enjoyed laying on those fields during the day, and find my inner
peace.  Quite different from the nature I'm used to, but I sure did
enjoy it out there in the "wild outskirts" of Tuscany...

This is another picture, taken from the field closest to the house.
I liked laying there in the sun, reading/writing & listening to music.
People with my kind of skin color (bright blue) have some wierd
obsession to be in the sun, even though we now we'll get burned...
